I am sitting here, in front of the fire, with a glass of wine, on a rainy day, writing this entry and thinking how incredibly lucky I am to have the job I have. Who else can say they get to be around and document one of the most important days of people's lives? It really is an honor to be a part of such an intimate experience.

I first met Katie and Savanna at a wedding showcase in downtown Portland, and I felt an immediate connection. We had a short, but refreshing conversation, I gave them my information, and we parted ways. A few months later, I opened an email to find that they were interested in having me photograph their engagement. We met at the McMenamins Edgefield, had some brews and ciders ..., and before I knew it, this beautiful couple opened up and allowed me into their lives. I couldn't have been more excited when Katie and Savanna asked me to be a part of their special day and tell their story.

The celebration took place on a beautiful summer day, at the McMenamins Grand Lodge in Forest Grove. The day was full of smiles, laughs, love and emotion. You can tell the love Katie and Savanna share for one another is true, by the way Savanna holds her eyes shut after they kiss, and by the way Katie intimately gazes into Savana's eyes. Just look at the joy on Savana's face when she sees Katie in her wedding dress for the first time.

Surrounded by friends and family, these two gorgeous brides began their lifetime of commitment to each other on September 3rd, 2017. Congratulations you two! I wish you both a lifetime of happiness.
