Married or single, we’re all aware of the stress that can come from planning a wedding, the majority of which can stem from the endless amount of decisions needing to be made. So..., what factors should you consider when hiring a photographer?
Aside from the apparent factors like cost, experience, artistic style and client reviews, there are some factors that are commonly overlooked, with the most notable being chemistry. I could easily write an entire blog sharing why I feel chemistry is so important, but I’d actually like to take this time to address another factor that I believe is more commonly overlooked. If you’ve ever shopped around for a wedding photographer, you’ve more than likely seen photographers offering packages in which they state their prices, hours of coverage and number of photos to be delivered. This is where I differ from the norm. Unlike the vast majority of photographers, I have always offered unlimited shooting, which essentially means I never set a limit to the amount of photos I take and deliver. I do this, because I believe it shows couples the level of commitment I’m willing to invest in capturing their wedding day to the fullest and without compromise. Weddings are just like stories, with different moments throughout the day that make each story unique to each couple. I then use the images I capture to tell that story to the best of my ability. If I were to limit the amount of photos I deliver, I’d be taking away those special moments that are vital to the story as a whole. The only downside to offering unlimited shooting is, I often tend to over deliver, which in turn means, more time spent editing and a later delivery date. This was absolutely true for Christianna and Andrew’s wedding. When I first began to look over their photos, I knew I was in for a challenge. The staggering amount of beautiful and emotional moments I managed to capture made it nearly impossible to select which photos to share and which ones to discard.
Christianna, I can’t thank you enough for your patience these past few months. I’ve been so incredibly lucky to have clients like you that understand the amount of time and effort I put into delivering a product I can be proud of. So thank you for allowing me to take my time in telling your story. I don’t think it's necessary to talk in depth about your wedding day, because I believe these photos say more then I ever could. I’m honored to have been given the opportunity to tell your story, and I hope that by viewing these photos in the years to come, you are able to relive that incredibly special day.
