It’s a special time of the year when the cool weather starts to roll in and the leaves on the trees begin to change color. For most photographers, including myself, this time of the year can often be pretty hectic. My time spent during the fall season is primarily dedicated to editing photos from the weddings I shot that summer, as well as the occasional fall family photoshoot. I’ve always loved photographing families, but I especially love photographing families in the fall, because even though it adds to my workload, it’s still an opportunity to escape from my laptop and get outdoors.
For Lindsey and her family, taking photos in the fall has become an annual tradition, and for the past three years, I’ve been lucky enough to be included in that tradition. This year was particularly special, because Lindsey decided to invite her parents and her sister, who just so happens to be one of my dearest friends. With the whole family present, we were able to capture a variety of shots, in different spots throughout the park, as well as a group photo. By looking at the photos, you can barely even tell that we were forced to shoot in the rain. Lindsey, your family was so incredibly easy to work with, and I was thoroughly impressed with how everyone managed to remain positive and optimistic while shooting in the rain.
Lindsey and Javin, I really can't thank you two enough. Thank you for supporting me as an artist and as a professional. I’m truly honored to be your family photographer and I’m grateful for the time we’ve shared. It has been such a joy to witness Carson and Gweni’s growth over the past three years. I can’t even begin to imagine the work that goes into parenting, but I can easily see the love, time and effort you’ve put into raising those two. They are two of the most charismatic, intelligent and compassionate kids I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting. So, more than anything, I’d like to thank you for allowing me to spend time with you and your family. Though it may be hard to believe, I am already looking forward to next year.
